The US and British governments have asked President Museveni to be a statesman and change his mind on withdrawing from Central African Republic and Somalia in the interest of African peace and stability.

President Yoweri Museveni has held a meeting with the visiting American Assistant Secretary of State for African Affairs, Ms. Linda Thomas Greenfield.

During the meeting that took place today at State House, Entebbe, the President and his guest discussed issues pertaining to sustainable stability and the political well being of African countries.

US and Britain who had taken Museveni for granted, forcing him to withdraw from South Sudan last year.

Also, the new US ambassador in Uganda arrived in Kampala with pomp, and chose to hobnob with the opposition. Museveni didn’t mind her until she walked out of his inauguration in May with intention to embarrass the Ugandan leader.

Museveni has since told off the Americans and British, and he made it clear that he had new partnerships in Russia and China.
The US has since tried to mend the fences but Museveni has decided to stop supporting US security programmes in Somalia and Central African Republic.
The top US diplomat came to Uganda to hold talks with President Museveni to ease the tense relations between Museveni’s government and US government.
President Yoweri Museveni assured the visiting American Assistant Secretary of State for African Affairs, Ms. Linda Thomas Greenfield, in the presence of both the US and UK diplomats in Uganda.

Museveni who is also not happy with the manner US ambassador in US ambassador in Uganda hobnobs with the opposition, discussed with the US top diplomats how the West destabilizes Africa.

Ambassador Linda Thomas Greenfield is currently on a tour of Africa that will also take to Zambia, Botswana and Malawi.
