Six killed in separate road accidents

hailed from Rwanda, were killed in five separate road accidents in the
last two days in the district.Twenty five-year-old Kalisa Didace, son of Kalisa Kigau, a native of
Kimironko near Gasabo in Rwanda sustained severe injuries and died on
the spot near Kumaraguru College of Technology on
Saravanampatti-Thudiyalur road on early? Friday.Traffic investigation wing (TIW) of the city police said, Kalisa
Didace was studying BBA final year at CMS College of Science and
Commerce at Chinnavedampatti. He was staying at the college hostel on
Saravanampatti-Thudiyalur road.On Friday around 4 am, he was riding on his two-wheeler towards a
bakery at Saravanampatti. A speeding van coming from opposite
direction dashed against him and he sustained severe head injury and
died on the spot. TIW police inspector Chandraseelan and his team
rushed to the spot and sent the body to Coimbatore Medical College
Hospital (CMCH) for postmortem. Police have arrested the van driver V
Shankar (25) from Thilakar Street in the city. Around 50 students from
Rwanda are studying at various colleges in the city.In another incident, D Kannan (22) from Periyar Nagar at Puliyakulam
in the city was run over by a water tanker truck near Balaji Nagar on
Vilankurichi road in the city? on Friday. Police said Kannan, a
construction worker from Puliyakulam was riding his motorcycle on
Vilankurichi road. The speeding water tanker tried to overtake the
motorcycle. The truck hit the motorcycle from the rear and Kannan fell
off the vehicle and came under the wheels of the truck. Though he was
wearing helmet, the rear tyres ran over on him and he died on the
spot. The truck driver Parthiban (25) managed to escape. This is a horrific

Puram in the city and S Vimala (30) from Nallampalayam were killed in
a road mishap? on Thursday. Balasundaram owned a printing press at RS
Puram.? On Friday, he had gone to KTVR Knowledge Park for engineering
and technology on Mathampalayam to pick his daughter Kavya (21) who
was studying in an engineering college.The father and daughter were returning home in a scooter? on Thursday
evening when the accident happened. A 30-year-old woman S Vimala from
Nallampalayam, who was working at a private diamond factory on
Mettupalayam road near Thudiyalur on the outskirts of the city tried
to cross the Mettupalayam-Coimbatore.Meanwhile a speeding vehicle dashed against Vimala and the scooter.
Balasundaram, his daughter Kavya and Vimala sustained severe injuries
and were admitted at CMCH. Despite treatment Balasundaram and Vimala
died? on Thursday? night. Thudiyalur have police registered a case and
detailed investigation is on.In the fourth incident, a woman aged about 40, was found dead near
Chinthamani bus stop on Coimbatore-Trichy road on the outskirts of the
city? on Thursday. Unidentified vehicle dashed against her who died on
the spot. Sulur police have registered a case and tried to trace the
identity of the victim.A 47-year-old man Jayachandran (48) from Kalyanapandal estate near
Valparai in Coimbatore was killed in a road mishap? on Friday. He was
working at a textile firm. He was on the way to his home town on a
motorcycle to celebrate Diwali along with his family members? on Friday
morning. He sustained severe injuries on head after falling from the
motorcycle near Iyerpadi estate and died on the spot. Valparai police
registered a case.
