Kagame’s Republic is changing from the Singapore of Africa to the North Korea of a thousand hills. In a shocking move, the Kagame regime is to control social media in Rwanda. This is what the Kagame has announced with regards to the forthcoming elections:
• The National Electoral Commission (NEC) will control the social media.
• Messages, photographs and other campaign material to be shared on social networks will be submitted to NEC for approval at least 48 hours before they are published.
• This purpose of controlling social media is “avoiding expressions, words, acts that can lead to acts of insecurity, the awakening of divisionism among the Rwandan population.”
Welcome to the North Korea of a Thousand Hills.
