Jannette Mugisha, a Ugandan businesswoman was arrested at Kanombe Airport, Kigali in the wee hours of Tuesday morning enroute to Kampala from Lagos, Nigeria.
Authorities in Kigali intercepted her and interrogated her for over 2 hours over her motive with ‘toxic’ social media posts concerning the operations of RwandAir
Mugisha, on October 2 poured rage on her Facebook page complaining of incompetence of the airline resulting into delay of the flight which was costing her errands.
She wondered if she would make it to get final destination.
She was travelling to Lagos, Nigeria to execute her “missions.”
“Rwanda Air delayed our flight from 6:50am (boarding time) to 8:35am now we told to board to kigali and they sort us there…. dear people help us incase we dont make it to our final destinations. Because i havent heard such cases from this airline we perceived as PERFECT……” She wrote.
Little did she know the post would cause her trouble.
While quizzing her, Rwandan authorities wanted to ascertain what did she mean saying “in case we don’t make it to our final destination.”
She was quizzed and later freed.
RwandaAir has been receiving heaps of praises from a section of Ugandans for its swiftness and good services.
“Mugisha’s tirade of outbursts could have rubbed authorities wrong way,” a concerned Ugandan observed.
Her arrest comes on heels of a brewing hostility between the two countries which could affect their long time bilateral and diplomatic relations.
Last week Rwanda Ambassador to Uganda Maj General Frank Mugambagye come out to vehemently deny that his country clandestinely abets covert operations of IGP Gen Kale Kayihura to takeover President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni’s leadership.
