Today’s first press conference should have been an opportunity for the new Inspector General of Kagame’s police force – Brig Gen Dan Munyuza to demonstrate a show case of a pro people officer, human right defender and vision/programme/strategy of building a professional police force.
The new IGP’s first press conference should have been a chance for Brig Gen Dan Munyuza and the police to re – image themselves as a law and order force rather than a terrorist organisation. It was an opportunity for Brig Gen Dan Munyuza to show diplomatic traits of statesmanship and shrug off the title of being Dr poison (utuzi twa Munyuza) as his known among oppressed and enslaved Rwandans.
The theme of the press conference didn’t reflect a force that is willing to change, “upholding the partnership journey through professionalism.” What professionalism are they upholding? Unless “upholding the partnership journey through professionalism of terrorism.” Trust, senior three dropout Brig Gen Dan Munyuza wasn’t even sure or conversant of the press theme.
Unfortunately, Brig Gen Dan Munyuza became the real Dan Munyuza. He turned the press conference into a platform to threaten opposition figures, human rights activists and anyone who questions criminal Paul Kagame’s directorship.
In his words, criminal Paul Kagame’s new IGP noted, “We know all those who oppose the regime, those who don’t wish good for the Country. We know were they live including those in diaspora. We know what they are planning or what they are thinking.” Throughout the press conference, he portrayed himself as a small “god” to the extent of telling oppressed and enslaved Rwandans that he knows what they are thinking.
In this press conference where he was supposed to show re – invention and renewal, instead he showed how class can’t be bought. Despite everything, village (malo) behaviours mixed with blood of innocent people overpowered this Kagamist house boy general to the extent of trading threats against innocent people on Camera.
Like other sick sycophants, he failed to separate between criminal Paul Kagame and Rwanda; yapping Paul Kagame and Rwanda as a single entity. To him, Criminal Paul Kagame is Rwanda. Opposing criminal Paul Kagame’s directorship means your opposing Rwanda.
In terms of killings, what knew will he do that he hasn’t done before? Has the opposition to Kagame ever reduced any momentum due to rampant killings orchestrated against them? What will he do that other killers before him didn’t do? It’s only mental cases that would think intimidation, kidnappings, torture, incarceration, assassinations and killings would help to sustain a dictatorship.
For example, since Brig Gen Dan Munyuza’s last profile assassination of an innocent man, mzee CSP Gashagaza Hubert, has the brutal regime gained anything, especially in terms of stability? Totally not, as his agents assassinated this old man, next day new anti Kagame individuals joined the ranks due to this heinous crime.
In the press conference, the new IGP emphasised on how he knows what the opposition are planning or thinking, telling journalists how he knows opposition figures very well, including their addresses and movements. Does he think that the opposition don’t know him very well?
