He investigated war crimes in Rwanda, abuse in notorious Iraqi prison Abu Ghraib and child slavery in Romania.

He was internationally known for his human rights work – but in his hometown of Adelaide, few knew the depths of Michael Hourigan’s accomplishments.

Yesterday his close friend Mark Griffin, QC, and the Law Society of SA paid tribute to Mr Hourigan, who died this month, aged 55, after a brain haemorrhage. FULL STORY
