Kagame’s Chickens Have Come Home to Roost – The Rwandan Strongman’s Past Activities in Uganda, the UK and the US Are Catching Up With Him
General Paul Kagame recalls the old saying, ‘chickens have come home to roost’ – the bad things he did in the past have come back to haunt him. Uganda is installing at its border with Rwanda walk-through, cargo, and baggage scanners to prevent cross-border terrorism and other illegal activities from Rwanda. For years, Kagame’s agents freely roamed Uganda, engaging in all manner of kidnapping and murder of Rwandans deemed ‘enemies’ of the Kagame regime.
In the UK, the All-Party Parliamentary Group on Magnitsky Sanctions says that the British government must reject Kagame’s nominee for Rwandan High Commissioner, Johnston Busingye. As Minister of Justice, Busingye was directly involved in the forced repatriation and torture of Paul Rusesabagina in September 2020. Busingye admitted that the plane that transported Rusesabagina from Dubai to Rwanda was chartered by the Rwandan government. Meanwhile, in the US, the Joe Biden Administration has nothing whatsoever to do with the Kagame regime, unlike Biden’s predecessors who treated Kagame as their favourite African strongman. Stay tuned.
