By Charles Kambanda Rwanda – Here’s a question you should be asking yourself whenever you think of FDLR vs. RPF: How many int’l arrest warrants are currently outstanding against RPF officials? How many against FDLR’s?
“One wonders whether Kagame believes he will hold the world hostage for ever! When Prosecution at the ICTR was ready to prosecute Kagame and his RPF/A officials for crimes under the international criminal tribunal for Rwanda, he ran to President Bush to negotiate getting off the hook.
Bush ordered the Prosecutir to put of Kagame’s prosecution at the international criminal tribunal for Rwanda because the US needed Kagame to penetrate DRC natural resources. The ICTR prosecutor was forced to resign. It was justice ” negotiated”. On the other hand, none of FDLR leaders has ever been indicted by the ICTR. Where does Kagame get the courage to name-call his political opponents? In spite of the political and financial power he has as a president, Kagame has outstanding international arrest warrants issues by a Spanish and French court respectively.
Kagame and his RPA/F senior officials are accused of genocide, crimes against humanity, war crimes and terrorism. On the other hand, FDLR leaders do not have such arrest warrants around their neck. The UNSC accuses Kagame and his terrorists of crimes of international concern, including genocide, in Congo. The Mapping Repport is well detailed. It is true that the ICC indicted the overall commander of FDLR. However, the world knows how much lobbying it took Kagame to secure that indictment.
The ICC, initially, found out that there was no prima facie case for the international court to issue indictments for FDLR leader. There was no evidence that he committed any crime. On Appeal, under pressure from Kigali, the ICC agreed to issue arrest warrants for FDLR because Kagame had set this as a condition for him ( Kagame) to surrender the most wanted warlord that was doing Kagame’s job in DRC; Bosco NTaganda.
All to top FDLR political leaders were arrested and later set free by the ICC on ” no charge to answer” motion. The Court ruled that the ” accused did not need to defend themselves because there was no case against them. Questions:
Kagame MUST stop fooling the world. He should be held accountable for his insane crimes of international concern he started perpetrating from Uganda and later in Rwanda and DRC. The US cannot cover up his crazy dictator’s crimes any more.”
