Unlike many of you , i had a number of personal encounters with Paul Kagame, Paul Kagame lived at MacKenzie vale – Kololo in the 80’s , he was my neighbor who was arrogant, self conceited & uncooperative. He used to quarrel & like to dominate local RC meetings, he was a very poor listener & always demonstrated a foul temper .
One incidence I won’t forget is when Paul Kagame while driving his Peugeot was bumped by my friend – Pius , Pius was learning to ride a bicycle & we ‘re cheering along , when he bumped Kagame’s vehicle & fell on the pavement breaking his leg , Kagame then a DMI / NRA sprung out of his Peugeot with a pistol in his hands & kicked Pius on the injured leg – we all scampered for cover, being very young we thought he would shoot us or arrest & beat us up .
Kagame hasn’t changed a great deal , the Paul Kagame who was my neighbor in Kololo is the same Paul Kagame in power today – leapards hardly change their spots.
About – Kisangani, well , i really wonder who the winner was , UPDF is more transparent with its casualties & losses, officially RPF lost no single fighter in the 2 major clashes – but i personally know my RPF friend Richard Rucogoza lost his jaws, my UPDF friend Maj Rubaranga was charged by the red- cross to select UPDF bodies from the ones of RPF, he bears witness that there were many RPF bodies but more UPDF, but no territory was won or lost by either conflicting forces – it was just bragging rights that were won probably by Paul Kagame.
