Even if a general or a judge tells us to release you, we won’t. We have been ordered to torture you, or kill you, or keep you for years at our will. It is only the president and DMI chief that we obey.” These are the echoes that linger in DMI detentions that are spread all over the Country.
Disappearances of people in Rwanda are the most burning issue in the country. State policies of kidnapping, disappearances, torture and summary executions in DMI run facilities are daily occurrences under the country’s totalitarian rule – Paul Kagame.
While criminal Paul Kagame was conducting his sham presidential campaign, his dreaded Directorate of Military Intelligence (DMI) under his directive was busy rounding up anyone suspected of being an RNC member in Rwanda. Since its formation in exile, the RNC was declared as an outlawed organization in Rwanda with criminal Paul Kagame telling his then intelligence guru Gen Jack Nziza that, “you don’t need to ask me on what you may do with any suspected RNC member. Give them the appropriate medication.” To criminal Paul Kagame, this was a clear directive to his then intelligence guru to use torture or kill on any suspected RNC member.
Ohhhh God!!! When the king gives an order, ardent servants will execute the directive. We witnessed a crackdown on any suspected RNC member starting with family members of those who have relatives in exile that had joined RNC. Dead bodies started appearing in river streams across Rwanda; blood of innocent citizens became the flowing water of this small enclave as paranoid regime braced the crackdown with zeal of gross human rights abuses.
We started watching mothers, fathers, sisters, brothers…etc denouncing their loved ones in different forums for merely being RNC members. The RNC was used by the police state to crack on anyone they perceived to hold divergent/different views which are contrary to official line.
The crackdown against RNC members didn’t affect civilians only; RDF soldiers were also highly the target. Those who had worked closely and had a good working relationship with either Gen Kayumba Nyamwasa or Col Patrick Karegeya were targets; with many summerly sacked from the army, incarcerated in different safe houses or being eliminated. This brutality by Paul Kagame against any suspected RNC members is a continuous process, being done up to today.
The problem of disappearances, incarceration, torture and killings are widespread; and not limited to suspected RNC members only.
For example, just in May of this year, two white Toyota pickup trucks suddenly stopped at the main gate of Col Kalimba. Him and the wife Goretti Kabuto who is a sister in-law to assassinated spy master – col Patrick Karegeya were arrested by plain clothes personnel from DMI, and that was the last time the family saw the couple.
For the last three months, no one knows the whereabouts of the couple, whether they are still alive or dead. When immediate family members registered their unlawful abduction with the police, the Kagamist police hasn’t reached back to them or bothered to provide any information on the whereabouts of this couple or provide specific charges against them.
Gorette Kabuto has young children and these children have gone for months without seeing their mother or father. The introspection sin made is Gorette Kabuto being a sister to Leah Karegeya, wife to assassinated spy master Patrick Karegeya. Under criminal Paul Kagame’s shallow metaphor, if a person is against his criminal rule then the dissident’s families have to pay the price. If he can’t get the dissident, the extend family becomes a legitimate target.
This method was tested before by other dictators but totally failed. Under criminal Nicolae Ceausescu in Romania, his security apparatus The Securitate used the same modus operandi as criminal Paul Kagame’s dreaded DMI. But now and again, their inhumane methodologies have been the main characteristics in these (dictators) downfall, including Nicolae Ceausescu’s brutal regime.
Surely, how do criminal minds work or reason? What does he gain by incarcerating an innocent mother? Does his human cruelty make him a real man? Totally NO, the skinny little twizzler is obsessed with human blood to realize that his criminal policies are failures and are main spring boards for over increasing number of dissent.
