DR Congo: President of Parliament Jeanine Mabunda NOT happy to be compared to Paul Kagame’s sister!

DRC: Insulted because she is “thin”, the President of Parliament Jeanine Mabunda reacts. The insulting remarks made by a member of the UDPS, the presidential party, made the political class react. As parliament prepares to return to school, the president of the National Assembly of the Democratic Republic of Congo, Jeanine Mabunda , on Monday denounced sexist “insults” against her.

Her reaction follows the release of a video in which a member of the UDPS presidential party compared her to Paul Kagame’s sister because she is slim and slender.

“Ms. Jeanine must prove to us that she is really from the province of Equateur. Can you declare yourself originally from Equateur and be slim and slender like Paul Kagame’s sister? »Says this man in Lingala in a video posted on social networks.

“The Congolese are not skinny, I myself am thin but I have flesh behind”, adds the man, showing his buttocks to the jubilant crowd in front of the UDPS headquarters in Kinshasa.

Faithful to former President Joseph Kabila, Ms. Mabunda felt that these comments undermined the institution she headed.

In support of the head of parliament, Néhémie Mwilanya, coordinator of the Common Front for the Congo, Mr. Kabila’s political platform for its part denounced remarks of rare violence that undermine the very humanity of women.

Same story coming from the Minister of Human Rights, André Lite.

Note that the National Assembly is back to parliament this Tuesday under high tension between the partners in power, Cach and the FCC.
