Rwandan Security Starts Arresting Gen Kabarebe’s Close Business Associates, Manager Grabbed from plane.
All is not well in the neigbouring Rwanda most especially the embattled Rwandan war veteran Gen James Kabarebe.
Gen Kabarebe the former Rwandan defense minister and president Paul Kagame’s blue eyed boy has been under house arrest for the last several weeks for unknown reasons.
It has been established that his bank accounts have also been frozen by the government while security withdrew passport belonging to his son Sande Kabarebe who has been overseeing his father’s business empire.
The latest from Kigali indicates that Gad Kato the business manager for Kabarebe’s empire in the neigbouring DR Congo has been picked from Rwanda Air.
It is reported Kato was grabbed from the airplane as it landed at Kanombe airport terminal.
Gen Kabarebe is alleged to be in possession of 12 Antonov cargo transporter planes operating in DR Congo.
He also reportedly operates other businesses in the rich mineral war ravaged country where he is accused of mineral racketeering.
Kato a Congolese of Rwandan origin is reported to have been returning to Rwanda after a business trip to Brussels in Belgium.
On arrival at Kanombe airport in Kigali, airport security officers informed him that was briefly needed by the director of Kanombe airport, Col Silas Udahemuka.
Being rich and connected to Kigali’s top military and government brass, Kato thought he was going for refreshment from the colonel but it turned out to be bad news.
Inside Udahemuka’s office, he found three mean looking officers from Rwanda Police’s counter intelligence unit waiting for him.
The colonel introduced Kato to the officers who informed him that he was wanted at Kacyiru police for clarification on certain issues.
Up to now, his where about is unknown after his wife Idda Muhikira failed to trace him at Kacyiru police station.
Idda Muhikira is a cousin to Paul Kagame. Her mother was a direct cousin to Asteria Rutagambwa, Paul Kagame’s mother.
