Gen David Sejusa continues to war of an imminent war in Uganda

Sejusa, who fled the country in April 2013 after failing to overthrow the government of President Museveni, said in a media statement on Monday night that he warned as early as 2012 that Uganda would “revert back to a catastrophic war.”

Sejusa’s remarks come amid heightened security tensions in Rwenzori where over 80 people were killed in tribal clashes on Saturday.

Dozens of suspects have been apprehended as part of a wider investigation into the attacks that swept through the districts of Ntoroko, Kasese and Bundibugyo.

“As many of you have noticed, serious instability is creeping back into the country. I see government trying to spin and down play these attacks going on around the country. In 1980s, the UPC government spent precious time trying to spin itself out of the NRA war. As they say, the rest is history. The spinning did not stop NRA from winning that war,” said Sejusa.

Government has previously described the controversial general as an “alarmist” hell-bent on dividing the army along sectarian lines.

Police Chief, Gen Kale Kayihura maintains the attacks in Rwenzori region were not acts of rebellion but a massacre orchestrated by extremist ethnic fighters. FULL STORY
