Georgiana Mugisha Fitzpatrick: “In this whole world why Burundi?”

COMMENT BY GEORGIANA MUGISHA FITZPATRICK FROM A DEBATE THAT WAS TAKING PLACE ON DR DAVID HIMBARA’S FACEBOOK TIMELINE.

David Himbara Providance Rubingisa Tino Masuka at Agaculama Mu Ikibunda the man who understand better the Great Lakes region matters Apollinaire Ndayikeze and Appolinaire Nishirimbere my two brothers who closely followed the Great Lakes region matters let me answer at my best ability to questions asked about Burundi not getting these so called “aids, grants,…” from IMF, World Bank,…please feel free to correct me or bring on your input.

Yes, we’re all seing the “international community” coming together to fight for the Covid19. Great, perfect… suddenly, some countries are getting a lot, huge “support” from the same “international community”.

Did you know that last week maybe probably this week the IMF just approves $ 442 million in aid to Senegal in its fight against the coronavirus epidemic.

This “assistance” comes from the “quick access of funds” in the event of an emergency. Senegal will receive $ 294.7 million under the “rapid financing” and $147.4 million under the “rapid credit” funds to help Senegal meet the “urgent” financing needs of the balance of payments resulting from the Covid-19 pandemic.

Did you know that SA President and AU Chairman Cyril Ramaphosa just appointed four special envoys to mobilize the international community to “help Africa” overcome the effects of the Covid-19 pandemic. Oh, wait wait…the best part is: The best known of them is the Rwandan Donald Kaberuka, former boss of the #AfDB 😀. The Ivorian Tidjane Thiam (Thiam😳🙈) headed the second #SwissBank#CreditSuisse😆while the South African Trevor Manuel was repeatedly minister under Mandela, Thabo Mbeki and Jacob Zuma. He even has a tipped time to head the #IMF 😂and the Nigerian, Ngozi Okonjo Iweala, former director of the #WorldBank🤣. In few words, all of them somehow are connected to European masters and their big corporations allies😢

Soit,

Everyone is aware that in recent years Africa has turned to China and Russia at the expense of the European community and it allies. This means a very big loss for Africa’s traditional financial institutions “donors” such as the IMF, the World Bank and Co. With this Coronavirus “crisis” the European community and their allies suddenly are turning into “master saviors” of “poor African” compassionate knights in shining armor (right now thinking of Macron and his grandiose speeches on how Europe is on it way to save Africa from Corona! Why this sudden love towards Africa? Why this huge urge to save Africans while the same European community/EU miserable failed to save their owns: Italians, French, Americans and especially Americans Americans…who are dying by hundreds day by day? Oh well, I can go on and on but, it’s time for Africans to wake up because they are being sold à moins cher by their government via these nonsense loans, “grants”….these governments are no better than Mr. X driving a leased Maserati dernier cri, while living under social services assistance.

Back to your question on Burundi.
Quite simply, Burundi has learned that there is no such thing as free lunch. All those big dollars, beautiful loans have long term consequences. Keeping you “Africans” under big brother ulinzi( I have to use ulinzi, just learned it meaning 2days ago, lol).

It has become a moto for Burundians that spending within their means instead of borrowing huge money that comes mostly with high interest is their only way out from misery. Their only way out of this ongoing cercle of borrowing/paying-borrowing/paying dependency.

With that being said, Burundi is now focusing on agro-pastoral projects as well as infrastructure. Once reaches self-sufficiency agro-pastoral goal, God willing Burundi will embark on major development projects. Burundians like to say “inda yaraye gusa izindukana inzigo” meaning going to bed on an empty stomach you wake up in a bad mood.

Before I rest my case, I would like to share with you that as we speak the UN is kindly asking Burundi to allow its consultant experts(🤨) to come to Burundi to evaluate Burundi needs to overcome the Covid19 challenges!….in this whole world why Burundi? Is Burundi the most country on this earth suffering from Corona🤔…. #Kirimwo Imana🙏🏾n’Abagabo🇧🇮
