HOW DMI KILLED JOHN BOSCO RUTAYISIRE NOVEMBER 13TH 2010.

By Gideon Rukundo Rugari

John Bosco Rutayisire was the financial manager of Bourbon Coffee. He was related to the late Patrick Karegeya.

His death shocked the nation at the time because the kidnapp that was supposed to be quiet attracted attention at a road junction in Remera Kigali during the evening rash hour ( 5pm). A close friend happened to be at the very same sport and even attempted to save him but he was one person against 6 men. They overpowered him, put him in one of the cars and drove off, taking his car as well.

His body was found in his car near Kanombe less than 8 hours later.

He was killed by Lt Col Tinka of DMI and ACP Kalisa of special intelligence which is part of the police force. However he had been interrogated several times by Gen Rutatina and Gen Ibingira about Karegeya. He had been reported by James Musoni and Jack Nziza to Paul Kagame and although they found nothing incriminating, they still held a meeting in the Ministry of Defence HQs chaired by Paul Kagame and decided to kill him. The day the meeting happened is the day he was killed.

Here again, it took days for the family to get the body.

On that day General Charles Muhire was also arrested.
