Kagame is determined to mess up Tanzanian politics. After Loassa, Kagame sponsored candidate within Tanzania’s ruling party CCM lost the primaries, Kagame is said to have taken his huge amounts of cash to CHADEMA, the biggest opposition political party in Tanzania. Kagame is said to have conditioned his cash to CHADEMA; Loassa must leave CCM and join CHADEM as the flag bearer or as Vice-president. Is CHADEMA likely to fall for this deal? Where would such a ” deal” leave CHADEMA in Tanzania politics?
This development is critical. Will Tanzania’s ruling party, CCM, look on as Kagame tears to pieces their party? Will the regional actors remain silent about Kagame’s resolve to destroy Tanzania? Even if CCM wins CHADEMA in the elections – the same way Loassa lost in CCM primaries in spite of the huge amounts of cash he got from Kagame which made him run the most expensive campaign since CCM came to life – what are the short and long range consequences of Kagame’s open interference in Tanzanian politics for Rwanda?
