Kagame Should Have Read The Bible Before Proclaiming Himself A Great Leader Who Made Rwanda Rich

Twenty years ago, General Paul Kagame launched Rwanda Vision 2020 with the goal of turning Rwanda into a middle-income prosperous nation. This is how Kagame explained Rwanda Vision 2020:

”We aim, through this Vision, to transform our country into a middle-income nation in which Rwandans are healthier, educated and generally more prosperous. The Rwanda we seek is one that is united and competitive both regionally and globally.”

To make Rwanda rich in two mere decades, Kagame and his government embarked on accomplishing six tasks:

1. Create an efficient State;

2. Build skilled human capital;

3. Create a private sector-led economy;

4. Build world-class infrastructure;

5. Create modern agriculture and livestock;

6. Integrate Rwandan economy into regional and global markets.

On November 8, 2019, Kagame informed the world that he had achieved his Vision 2020 by an impressive 85 percent. Kagame went even further on December 19, 2019. He stated that Rwanda’s economic performance was ”an unequalled record.”

As early as 2013, Kagame had already proclaimed Rwanda ”an Africa economic lion” in the footsteps of the Asian tigers of South Korea, Singapore, Hong Kong, and Taiwan.

Kagame should have read the Bible before proclaiming himself a great leader that made Rwanda rich.

Kagame should read the Bible, especially Matthew 7:1–5 which reads:

”….With the judgment you pronounce you will be judged, and with the measure you use it will be measured to you.”

Then, Kagame should proceed and read Proverbs 26:12 which says:

”Do you see a man who is wise in his own eyes? There is more hope for a fool than for him.”

In Rwanda’s Stillborn Middle-Income Economy, step by step we measure Kagame with the measurements he provides. The results of assessing Kagame’s performance of the past 20 years confirms that he is exceptionally wise in his own eyes. And as in Proverbs 26:12, whenever self-deception consumes a man, there is more hope for a fool than him. Kagame is no exception — Rwanda Vision 2020 was a total fiasco. Sadly, Rwanda remains one of the poorest countries in the world.
