Rwandese are taking advantage of Uganda’s force heavy Deployment along the border and have started escaping to Uganda through Panyas (shortcuts), They are being received by UPDF and UPF at different points.
Ugandan forces insist they are there to prevent illegal immigration and will record all asylum seekers and refugees.
At the moment Rwandans feel more secure inside Uganda that in their own country in case their country attempts to attack Uganda.
Our worry is that they may not be genuine refugees instead being an advance party, Uganda however as the international responsibility to process them as refugees and provide protection to them.
