Canary Mugume a budding journalist at the Kamwokya based NBS TV is one of the journalists in Kampala who have been fueling students’ strike at Makerere University.
Last Friday, while presenting NBS media round table where he appeared alongside Samson Kasumba and Dalton Kaweesi compared security forces which went to Makerere University at night to provide security to gunmen who have been killing Ugandans. This was contrally to his counterparts who called for a round table negotiation between the university management and students leadership to find a lasting solution because the 15% tuition increment was supported by former guild leadership.
Yesterday, Monday morning, Mugume raided the University for a live reporting where he went on blackmail against security forces claiming that they stopped him from filming them.
Later in the day, the same Mugume reported fake news that students had forced the university to halt the 15% tuition policy. NBS later apologized to the public and the university after the university management disowned the fake news. Probably, Canary Mugume had a hidden agenda.
Mugume is a renowned Rwandan agent operating in Uganda together with his boss Kin Kalisa and a host of other NBS TV journalists. He is reported to have been the lead campaigner of pro-Rwanda propaganda news against Uganda and was equally frustrated by government’s decision to block all anti Uganda news trolls in Kigali which have been blackmailing President Museveni and security chiefs.
