Paul Kagame: Thomas Sankara and Laurent Gbagbo were naive

During a meeting with media professionals, Paul Kagame spoke on several topics. From Rwanda’s relationship with Francophone African countries in his opinion on the ICC, Paul Kagame did not mince his words.

At the same time, he chastises the attitude of the African Presidents who participate in the regional summits with Omar El Bechir but who once demand their arrest.

The Rwandan president also spoke in this interview about two emblematic leaders who have marked the history of their countries. They are Laurent Gbagbo and Thomas Sankara .
Gbagbo and Sankara “naifs”

According to him, these two directors who marked their time were ” naives “. In support of his remarks, Paul Kagamé recalls that in a widely circulated video excerpt, Thomas Sankara had plainly acknowledged that Blaise Compaore could easily overthrow it. He then wonders for Sankara has not made his arrangements to prevent this.

As for President Laurent Gbagbo, Kagame confesses to having warned former President Gbagbo of the danger that was watching him. He claims to have told him that the fact that Côte d’Ivoire signed the Treaty of Rome on the ICC was an ” error “. He went on to argue that he had imagined the scenario in which Gbagbo was being caught.
