The photo below shows another aspect of a democratically elected leader. The essence of continuously being close to people and always listening to their daily cry, in research what President John Magufuli is doing, it is known as primary data collection. This is an excellent method of collecting real data; he is directly listening to views from stake holders, electorates and citizens at large.

President John Magufuli’s progressive approach of approaching the citizens is totally superb; this gives him first class information on the needs, aspiration and the direction of the country. It allows him to interpret whether the citizens are satisfied or dissatisfied with his administration.

Democracy is not only about free and fair elections. It is not only about freedoms and human rights advancements. Democracy is also about how leaders approach their electorates and citizens. Democracy is how democratically elected leaders continue listening and understanding the worthiness, difficulties and the needs of those they are leading. Empathy and being close to citizens should be key to democratically elected leaders.

In small enclave – Rwanda, the imposter ruler is totally detached from his oppressed citizens. He has no single empathy for those he is ruling by sheer military force. To him, Rwandans are personal slaves rather than fellow stake holders. To him, Rwanda is a personal property, an inheritance from his father to him and then to be passed to his children. In his myopic outlook, Rwanda is a Kagamist dynasty, thus not giving a damn about his oppressed slaves.
