I am writing this in response to the Kigali syncopates who keep denying that my husband is being held in Rwanda, so they I know we are not simply accusing their government for no good reason.
The day that he was kidnapped, his captors left him with his phone 11:00am to 5:00 o’clock and arrogantly told him to call whoever he want including president Museveni, for nobody was going to save him, he didn’t take them seriously at first and so he didn’t bother calling those powerful people that he was being advised to call.
However part of the reason that he didn’t do this, was due to the fact that he didn’t see why Rwanda would have any interest in him, given that he is Congolese, that had lived in Uganda for over 17 years, while doing business between Goma and Kampala with out minding the politics of Rwanda, and its due to this not taking his arrest seriously that he told me not go to the media, for he perhaps thought that he could handle the situation whatever it was.
But he was mistaken, for his was a planned kidnap, well corroborate between security agents in Rwanda and the Uganda police then, so two day after his kidnap and me losing my Patience, I went to the newspaper s and international police and reported his case.
I was also able to get some contact from Kigali that advised me to come and see a certain general that was charged with the responsibility of keeping all the Congolese that were being arrested, so i immediately bought an air ticket and moved to Kigali and straight to Pentagon, where this general’s office is,I did this with a lot of confidence, partly because this general was well known by my family, for his family and mine have known each other since the 1970s from Nakasongola and his mother is distantly related to mine, but this general dodged me for a full week, until one of people advised me to ambush him from a wedding, where his nephew was marrying my cousin, I did this and surely got him, he ashamedly gave me his private no, and advised me to call him on Monday.
The following weeks were of me calling him and him not picking, after he found out why I was looking for him, these were the worst days of my life, for I had left my kids including the 10 months old alone with a maid and also had changed my travel ticket for over three times, hoping that I would get a lead to where my husband was being held.
After two weeks of despair and frustration, I decided to return to Uganda, but all was not lost, for using my relations in Rwanda and friends of my family that work with in the system, I was able to know where and why my husband was being held. I was also advised by these same people, never to return to Rwanda, for they also kidnap me.
My journey of only 45 minutes between Kigali and Entebbe, looked like that of a thousand miles, for I didn’t know what to do next, but one thing that I knew, was that Rwanda is a tyranny and a big time violator of human rights, and that was I was going to expose these violation to everyone, even if it would be the last thing that I would do.
Coming back home in Uganda, I was for once very glad that I was born Ugandan, a country were freedom of expression is a excised and respected,I was also able to get in touch with human rights watch head in Nairobi through a friend but unfortunately these guys couldn’t do much either, for Rwanda is well known as a sick man of the region in as far as human rights is concerned.
This incident changed my perception over life in general, for before this,I was a business woman in Kampala, making money and raising my family, with out knowing that all this was taking place, and that our people, both refugees and Ugandans of Rwandan origin had been turned into commodities for sale between security agent of Rwanda and some police officers in Uganda.
And it is then, that I decided that I never going to live for my self and my family alone, but rather that i am going to embrace “Ubuntu” and care about humanity for IAM BECAUSE YOU’RE “.
This was also the time that I was introduced to other victims of Rwanda’s terror, including madam Mukadepite, a wife to Sargent Dominique Nsabagasani, another victim of Dan Munyuza and Jack Nziza, who was kidnapped and is believed to have been killed by the agents of the above mentioned generals, just like they did to Charlotte Mukankusi’s husband, Rutagarama.
The story of this Sargent/prophet, will be shared next time, as am going to to be profiling each case of numerous victims of Rwanda’s mighty hand of terror from Uganda’soil, in the coming days.
