RFI: Rwanda opposition figure speaks on being denied entry to Kigali: Fr. Thomas Nahimana

In Nairobi– a Rwandan priest who was en route to Kigali to register his political party,Ishama, was stopped at the gate before boarding. Father Thomas Nahimana had hoped to register in order to run against President Paul Kagame in the 2017 elections.

He is traveling with three others from his Ishama party, his return to Rwanda after leaving 11 years ago fearing for his safety. He has a visa for Rwanda on his French passport, but was prevented from boarding the aircraft by airport authorities. Nahimana tells RFI’s Laura Angela Bagnetto it’s political:
