Rwanda: Before sending Gen. Rusagara & Col. Byabagamba to prison, Kagame removed Rwarakabije from his post as the head of correctional services. Kagame cannot trust a hutu with a maximum-security prison that is now housing his ex-comrades who know him inside and out. Kagame knows how damn bitter they are by now after months of humiliation, being dragged in courts on fabricated petty charges. So bitter that the duo can engineer a prison break in a heartbeat should Rwarakabije remain in charge.
But does Kagame remember the Lizinde scenario? His release from Ruhengeri maximum-security prison? Din’t Habyara think he had put Lizinde in his place? That he had him good? How did Lizinde get out? Does Kagame remember?
But how did we get here in the first place? The problem has always been – and remains to this day – that those so called “brave” military officers who are still some what free in Rwanda’s open air prison system (starting with the new head of the regime’s correctional services) are too fearful of Kagame that they don’t realize they can end this carnage once for all. Truth is – there’s no such a thing as maximum security prison for innocent prisoners being jailed by Rwanda’s criminal-in-chief. Paul Kagame that is. What are they waiting for?
