Rwanda Investigation Bureau said on Monday that Robert Bayigamba a former cabinet Minister is currently detained pending prosecution resulting from illegal acquisition and sell of property not belonging to him.
Umuhoza Marie Michelle the RIB spokesperson confirmed the arrest and detention of this former minister saying he has been charged for flouting articles 174 and 176 of the penal code. “His dossier has already been forwarded to prosecution,” Umuhoza said.
Bayigamba has previoulsy been Cabinet Minister in charge of Youth, Sport and Culture and Executive Secretary of the Privatization Secretariat under the Ministry of Finance and Economic Planning where he coordinated the privatization of 20 state owned companies.
