Rwatubyaye Called Up by Rwanda

Center back called up for African Cup of Nations Qualifier. Sporting Kansas City center back Abdul Rwatubyaye is the latest player to be called up to represent their country in the upcoming international window.

Rwatubyaye becomes the fifth KC player to be called up, joining Botond Barath (Hungary), Jaylin Lindsey (US U20), Krisztian Nemeth (Hungary), and Johnny Russell (Scotland). He was called up to join Rwanda for their final African Cup of Nations qualifier against the Ivory Coast.

Rwanda is already eliminated from qualifying, they currently sit fourth in their four team group with zero wins, two draws, and three losses through their first five group games.

Kansas City is off next week in MLS action, so Rwatubyaye will not miss any games for the club while away on international duty as he should return ahead of KC’s match against the Montreal Impact on March 30th.
