Rwanda: Showtime in Atlanta, Georgia

By David Himbara

They came to dazzle – with tales of reconciliation and rise of an economic lion from the ashes of genocide.

Even the toughest critics must give the Kagames their due.

They are brilliant schemers and manipulators, devoid of scruples of any kind.

The Rwanda Day is a masterpiece – for just one day, the Kagames are able to distract attention from terror at home. The dead bodies carried downstream by River Akagera; the humiliated and dumped President of the Senate – all forgotten at least for one day of glory in Georgia!

Where and what next in this tragicomedy?
