TANZANIA AND BURUNDI PROBABLY STANDING THEIR GROUND AGAINST THE BULLY KAGAME: Is this the end of the East African Community?

By Prof Charles Kambanda

Tanzania and Burundi “boycott” East Africa Community video conference meeting meant to “harmonize” COVID 19 policy in the region.

Food for thought:

1. Why has Kagame declined to relinquish the regional chairmanship, since his term expired in January or thereabouts?
2. Would Kagame junta survive if the current Rwanda-Tanzania standoff persists or escalates?
3. Is Kagame familiar with the factors that led to Napoleon’s “spectacular” fall?
