When you look around Africa and especially around the greatlakes region, you will find corrupt institutions running different governments. In case of Rwanda, the institutions running the government are less corrupt in reference to her neighbouring states. In Rwanda, we have a corrupt family, the Kagame family. The family controls 99% of the private/Business sector. They have used their political office as a means to acquire illegitimate financial gains.
The Kagames have used bribery,
extortion, cronyism, nepotism,
gombeenism, parochialism patronage,
influence peddling, graft, and
embezzlement to enrich themselves at the expense of tax payers’ money/state coffer. Their corruption has facilitated their criminal enterprise such as wars, assassinations, kidnappings, disappearances, money laundering, and human trafficking of state spies to different parts of the world. Their corruprion has been used for other purposes, such as repression of political opponents, police brutality, election doctoring and buying of western influence through P.R firms and lobbyists.
In Rwanda, we are witnessing unrestrained political corruption, kleptocracy, literally meaning the rule of thieves…..lets “enjoy” the video below of Kagame’s finacial plundering at the expense of suffering Rwandan citizens.
