The Lionesses Of Rwanda Will Free Us From Dictatorships

By David Himbara

I had a dream last night. In the dream appeared three Rwandan women. One was Agathe Uwilingiyimana. She served as Prime Minister of Rwanda from 18 July 1993 until she was assassinated on 7 April 1994. She was saying to me in the dream that Rwanda will be free from dictatorship.

The second woman was Victoire Ingabire Umuhoza, chairperson of the Unified Democratic Forces, who dared to compete for the Rwandan presidency in 2010. The regime put her in jail instead. She was saying in the dream that Rwanda will be free from dictatorship.

The third woman was Diane Rwigara. When she stood up to challenge Kagame, the regime started assassinating her character. She was saying that Rwanda will be free from dictatorship.

In the dream, the threesome were telling Kagame the following: “Beware. You keep striking women by imprisoning them and assassinating their character. You have now attacked Rwandan lionesses. That is like hitting a rock. The rock will crash your dictatorship.”
