JOHANNESBURG (December 4, 2013) – Pan-African industrialist and entrepreneur Tribert Rujugiro Ayabatwa today announced the establishment of a new nonprofit foundation, the Tribert Rujugiro Ayabatwa (TRA) Foundation, to benefit African youth through scholarships and internships.
Ayabatwa, 72, said TRA Foundation will provide scholarships for African students interested in pursuing careers in science, engineering and technology. The Foundation will also finance and organize internships for graduates in these areas of study to ensure they receive the practical, hands-on experience they need to succeed in today’s job market.
“It has been my lifelong goal to provide opportunities for African youth,” Ayabatwa said. “Having been denied a formal education after the eighth grade, I had to work that much harder to prove myself. I do not want any child to experience that. I hope this foundation will make it easier for today’s students to get the education, training and experience they need to succeed.” FULL STORY
