Uganda’s opposition appears to have talked the US and EU into the ” deal”. Did they ignore Russia and China?

The US appears ” unsatisfied” with the election process (and the results) leading to Museveni’s election victory. Russia, on the other hand, has congratulated President Museveni for winning what Russia calls free and fair elections. China has not declared her position over elections in Uganda. The European Union has made no declaration to this effect.

Kenya and Burundi were the first countries to congratulate Museveni. Museveni is the EAC mediator in Burundi issues. Kagame, who’s accused of training and arming armed groups that have terrorized Burundi, endorsed Museveni for reelection although, once upon a time, Kagame supported Dr. Kiiza Besigye against Museveni.

There is growing tension between Burundi and Rwanda as well as between DRC and Rwanda. Tanzania, another regional power house, has made no declaration over Museveni’s reelection. South Africa and Angola – another regional power house – are yet to declare their position over Museveni’s reelection.

Tanzania appears to support Burundi in the fight against Kigali based terrorists operating in Burundi. Russia and China have supported Burundi, openly, against what appears to be US and western allies’ regime change campaign in Burundi. Kagame appears to be the only regional agent for the US / western allies’ Burundi regime change campaign. The US has accused Museveni of ” failing” to mediate in Burundi crisis. Museveni refused to join Kagame in the Burundi regime change campaign. Museveni is said to have contributed in suppressing the infamous US/Western allies sponsored coup in Burundi.

The opposition in Uganda accuses Museveni of vote rigging in the just concluded elections that handed Museveni a fifth term in office. Museveni has ruled Uganda for three decades now.
