Uganda’s President Museveni Found Time To Visit A Rwandan Family That Supported His Bush War 36 Years Ago – Wonderful

An anonymous friend alerted me to this heart-warming story. While attending the African Union Summit in Kigali, M7 spared time to visit the late Karuretwa’s family.

In a tweet, M7 mentioned that Gregory Karuretwa contributed to the Ugandan struggle. M7 attached photos of himself and the Karuretwa family.

In the M7 photo, is also Mrs J. Rwigema, the wife of the late Rwandan hero, Fred Rwigema, founder of RPF. Fred distinguished himself in the Ugandan struggle rising to the rank of a General. M7 has not forgotten Fred – nice!

What a wonderful gesture from the Ugandan president! Clearly, power need not make the powerful forget where they come from. M7 is telling us that “never forget your roots.”
