Kagame’s Rwanda has been in the news boasting that it sold food to the World Food Program, to export to Burundi. Meanwhile, hunger is spreading across Rwanda. And the situation may get worse.
While the regime was sleeping, the fall armyworm is ravaging thousands of hectares of crops in different parts of the country. According to the East African:
“Thousands of fall armyworm pests attacked crops last week causing massive losses to maize and sorghum farmers countrywide. A section of the cereal farmers decried the high cost of pesticides and lack of information about pest control as the support provided by the government is limited to areas with large farms.”
We hope the world traveller Kagame visits Rwanda soon to address this emerging disaster.
